Liverpool have reportedly joined the widely contested race for Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer ahead of this coming summer’s transfer window.
The 24-year-old midfield maestro has enjoyed a fantastic campaign ever since Domenico Tedesco took over at Leipzig from Jesse Marsch and Laimer’s showings have earned him rave reviews from elsewhere.
According to a report from the German news outlet Kicker ( via The Daily Express), it is claimed that Liverpool could be challenged to Laimer’s signature by the likes of Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
United’s current interim manager Ralf Rangnick has sounded out a recommendation to the club board for making an approach to bring in the Leipzig first-team star who could prove to be a fantastic peice of transfer business for the struggling Red Devils.
Liverpool, meanwhile, would be urged to step up the efforts for their new transfer target with the boss Jurgen Klopp on the hunt for reinforcements in midfield to bolster his ranks heading into the start of the new season.
