Liverpool eye up a shock move for Aston Villa star regular John McGinn

Aston Villa star midfielder John McGinn’s influential displays at the ongoing UEFA European Championships for Scotland has not gone unnoticed with Liverpool claimed to be in line to offer a move for the player this summer.

The 26-year-old is being eyed up by the Merseyside giants who are in the market for a new midfield player to take up the vacancy left by Gini Wijnaldum, now a Paris Saint-Germain player after having called it quits at Anfield.

Klopp’s resolve to find a suitable replacement for Wijnaldum could lead him to McGinn who has been a star turn in the centre of the park for Dean Smith’s Villians following his move to Villa Park for a modest £2.5 million fee in the summer of 2018.

Reports from the Daily Record suggest that the Reds are interested in the Aston Villa first-teamer and will be keeping further tabs on the player who is currently with Steve Clarke’s Scotland side at the Euros.

McGinn’s emergence on Liverpool’s transfer radar makes him the second notable midfielder from the Premier League after Brighton’s Yves Bissouma to be targeted by Jurgen Klopp’s side for a summer switch to Merseyside.
