The Reds have plans to be rampant in the upcoming winter transfer window as Jurgen Klopp’s side seek to add centre-back reinforcements following injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, and Lille man Sven Botman is the latest name being linked with a move to Anfield.
Botman has established himself to be a first-team regular for the Ligue 1 outfit this season and on the run of consistent showings in the heart of the defence, the Dutchman is being eyed up by Liverpool FC as a short-term cover for Van Dijk.
Reports from the Sun claim that the Merseyside Reds had reached out to the French club over Botman’s availability, however, a price-tag worth £45 million had diminished Liverpool FC’s interest in signing the former Ajax man.
The latest speculation suggests that the 20-year-old starlet could be made available for Liverpool FC for as low as £27 million in light of the recent financial developments arising due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Such a cut-price fee would come of interest to Klopp and Co. as the Champions of England deal with serious issues on the injury front to first-team star defenders and a move for Botman come January is not being ruled out.
