Liverpool eyeing up a move for Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard

Odsonne Edouard could be a new name on Liverpool’s radar for this summer’s transfer window with Jurgen Klopp expected to add a fresh face to his attacking options currently at Anfield.

The Liverpool boss missed out on the coveted signature of Patson Daka with the Zambian star striker now on his way to the King Power Stadium after Leicester City made the move for him ahead of the Reds and Chelsea.

Reports from The Echo claim that considering Daka is entering into his final 12 months of contract at Celtic, clubs across Europe including Liverpool will be eyeing up a summer swoop for the highly-rated forward.

The Frenchman has been a hugely influential presence in the Celtic frontline ever since his move to Scotland but with no talk of the player extending his stay at Celtic Park, Jurgen Klopp’s side would back themselves in the bid to sign him this summer.

Celtic, meanwhile, despite their efforts to retain their star player, will be cautious over losing out on him for free next summer should Edouard decide against signing a new deal and playing out his final year of contract this upcoming campaign.
