Liverpool are reportedly eyeing up a shock deal for Inter Milan talisman Lautaro Martínez with the player looking for a move away from Italy this coming summer.
Tottenham Hotspur had been close to completing a deal for the highly-rated Inter forward last summer only for Romelu Lukaku’s move to Chelsea forcing Inter to retain Martínez.
With a price tag of £60 million, the Argentina international is wanted by some of the biggest clubs across Europe including Spurs and Real Madrid and now joining the mix are Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, claim reports from liverpool.com.
Martínez’s lack of productive run in front of the goal this season could convince Inter Milan to part ways with their star striker at the end of the season and Liverpool are backed to keep close tabs on the player’s situation at San Siro.
Klopp landed his longstanding target Luis Diaz in the recent January transfer window with the Anfield camp pipping Spurs to the Columbian international’s signature in a move that came out of the blue in the final days of the window.
