Liverpool face Chelsea’s renewed challenge for signing Jude Bellingham next summer with the Blues keeping close tabs on the in-demand midfielder.
The Dortmund sensation has plenty of big-name suitors across Europe which includes Premier League bigwigs Liverpool and Manchester United who have long been interested in moving in for his signature.
According to a report from The Daily Mail, the new entrants in the mix are Chelsea, with the Blues new co-owner Todd Boehly has zeroing in on Bellingham as one of his priority targets for the summer of 2023.
This would come as fresh competition on the transfer front for Jurgen Klopps’ Merseysiders with the Liverpool head coach a well-documented admirer of Bellingham’s ability despite failure to bring him to Anfield this summer as Dortmund refused to sanction a sale.
Liverpool signed Juventus maestro Arthur Melo on deadline day in emergency recruitment for the injury-hit midfield ranks but the loan deal is unlikely to be extended with other names on Klopp’s wishlist more suited to fit the bill for the central midfield role.
