Liverpool have reportedly fallen behind Real Madrid in the race to land Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham’s signature next summer.
The England international midfielder has long been a target for the Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp who is on the lookout for a fresh face to add to his under-fire engine room options in the coming transfer windows.
According to a report from the Spanish news outlet Marca ( via The Express), however, European champions Real Madrid appear to have fast-tracked their plans for signing Bellingham by opening talks with the player’s camp over the last few weeks.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are said to be open to fork out a fee of up to £88 million for Dortmund to part ways with the midfielder’s services as it remains unclear whether the German outfit would relent to sanction the sale of their star first-team regular.
Real are hoping for Bellingham to join a potential midfield trio that includes the coveted likes of Aurelien Tchouameni and Edouardo Camavinga and ensures success at the Santiago Bernebeu on a long-term basis.
