Liverpool FC skipper Jordan Henderson leads the Reds’ trophy lifting celebrations at Anfield

Liverpool FC finally ended a 30-year wait to lift the Premier League trophy at the Kop end of the famed Anfield venue on Wednesday night following their 5-3 victory over Chelsea FC. The Reds skipper Jordan Henderson was present to perform his now-iconic “trophy shuffle”, despite being sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Henderson was handed the Premier League trophy in the presence of Liverpool FC legend Sir Kenny Dalglish. The former Reds player and manager also handed out the winner’s medals to the members of the Liverpool FC squad and coaching staff.

The trophy lifting moment is one that will forever be etched in the hearts of the players involved as well as in the Merseyside club’s history. Jordan Henderson joined the esteemed company of Alex Raisbeck, Donald McKinlay, Willie Fagan, Ron Yeats, Tommy Smith, Emlyn Hughes, Phil Thompson, Graeme Souness, and Alan Hansen as the players to have captained the Reds to the league title.

The Liverpool FC skipper voiced his delight at his side’s achievement following the trophy presentation. The 29-year old Henderson stated that it was a childhood dream come true for him to lift the most prestigious domestic trophy in English football. He also added that it was a combined team effort from the Reds which has led to them being crowned the Premier League champions.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, who was the scorer of Liverpool FC’s fifth goal against Chelsea on Wednesday night, emphasized the desire of carrying on the success achieved by the Reds this season. The English international stated that it was up to the Liverpool FC players to inspire a new generation of up and coming footballers by bringing more laurels to Anfield.

Chamberlain also voiced his desire of staying hungry for more success to be achieved by the Reds in the coming years. The victory over Chelsea meant that Jurgen Klopp’s side finished a third consecutive league season without suffering a defeat at Anfield.
