Liverpool first-team duo Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain return to training following a period of COVID-19 enforced absence.
Reports from the club’s official website confirm that both Gomez and Chamberlain returned to team training after sitting out the FA Cup win against Cardiff City last time around with the pair short on match fitness.
Jurgen Klopp sounded out positive news on the injury front for his side with the Liverpool boss claiming no fresh concerns within his ranks ahead of the league outing against Leicester City on Thursday.
“Not that I know of in the moment, but we are not too far away from training at this moment so I should know [soon]. But, no.
“Oxlade and Joe are back in training, which is good – they had COVID last week.
“In the next few days and weeks, we here at Liverpool will have probably all had it and that’s then at least something good in that. But no, no new injuries or anything like that.”
Klopp, however, will not be able to call upon Senegal star forward Sadio Mane on the back of his country’s Africa Cup of Nations triumph against Mohamed Salah’s Egypt.
Salah remains available for selection following the Egyptian’s return to the Liverpool fold at the AXA Training Centre on Tuesday.
