Liverpool have reportedly gained major ground in attempts to sign the FC Porto maestro Fabio Vieira after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.
According to a report from The Sunday Mirror ( via The Liverpool Echo), it is claimed that Liverpool have the first refusal to land the signature of the highly-rated attacking midfielder Vieira from the Porto camp.
Porto would be required to inform Liverpool should any other club emerge as suitors for Vieira who has been one of the standout players for the Portuguese heavyweights over the course of the campaign.
Vieira has a £12.7m release clause in his contract which could be eyed up by Liverpool as the boss Jurgen Klopp remains on the hunt for reinforcements in the attacking third to bolster his ranks.
The Merseyside giants had signed Columbia international Luis Diaz from Porto in the January window with the winger getting off to an excellent start to life at Anfield on the back of his superb run of showings.
