Liverpool given hope in their efforts to sign Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes

Liverpool have been given hope in their efforts to sign Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes who has not enjoyed the greatest of starts in the Premier League.

Nunes, who signed for Wolves last summer from Sporting Lisbon, has failed to adjust to life in England’s top flight as he would have hoped and there is uncertainty now over his future at the Molineux.

According to a report from The Daily Express, it is claimed that both Liverpool and Manchester City, two clubs who were keen on Nunes before he made the move to Wolves, could be set to revive their interest in the Portugal international.

Nunes is suited to a free-roaming role and the style of play adopted by Wolves has not been to the 24-year-old’s liking which could prompt Liverpool to make an approach and bring in a highly-rated player to bolster their midfield ranks.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have failed to impress so far this campaign and their midfielders have come under censure for below-par displays coupled with the increasing injury troubles.
