According to the latest reports, Bournemouth midfielder Ryan Fraser has grabbed headlines once again after suggesting that he is currently unsettled at the Vitality Stadium following the departure of Marc Pugh hinting a move away from the club.
Fraser joined Bournemouth from Aberdeen back in 2013 but has been heavily linked with an exit in recent months and has even put the brakes on a contract extension with the Cherries. The 25-year-old winger has emerged as one of the most creative players in England’s top flight, having scored seven goals and notching up 14 assists in the previous season as well as a goal and two assists so far this season. Overall, the Scottish star has been involved in an impressive 40 of Bournemouth’s goals since joining the club.
But off late, Fraser has been less happy at the Vitality Stadium after his good friend Marc Pugh has left the club on loan to join Queens Park Rangers. While speaking to reporters, Fraser said, “He’s my best mate off the pitch so to see him go on loan (to Hull last season) was hard. I was obviously back to being a loner again! Pughe is Pughie. You can’t say a bad word about Pughie. He’s probably one of the nicest guys. Nath (Ake) is up there as well and then I’d say myself maybe third! So obviously losing one and then we keep losing them and then last season was hard – I used to go and have a coffee with Pughie, but it wasn’t like that. So you end up just going home and doing nothing. It’s hard to take.”
Top clubs in England are keeping a tab on Fraser and current Premier League leaders Liverpool has also expressed their interest in signing the Bournemouth attacker. Bournemouth, on the other hand, will be hoping to cash in on Fraser before his contract expires in the summer and put him up for sale in the January transfer market.
The Reds are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table and look in contention to win their first top-flight title in 30 years.
