Liverpool have reportedly offered Roberto Firmino a new cut-price contract despite the Brazilian’s growing importance to Jurgen Klopp this season.
Firmino has emerged into a pivotal figure at Anfield as of late with the 31-year-old impressing in the attacking third of the pitch at a time when Liverpool have lost the likes of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota to long-term injury troubles.
According to a report from Football Insider ( via teamTALK), it is claimed that the Reds camp have tabled a cut-price deal in front of Firmino but with the option of hiking up his pay from performance-related bonuses.
The Brazil international, who missed out on the national team squad for the ongoing World Cup in Qatar, made 21 appearances in all competitions this season with nine goals and four assists to his name.
It is believed that despite Firmino nearing the age of 32, he remains indispensable to the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp who would not be keen to part ways with the player just a year after losing the long-serving frontman Sadio Mane.
