Liverpool hope to have a closer look at Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma with the two sides meet in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders advanced to the last four of the competition courtesy of a 6-4 aggregate win over Benfica over the two legs while Villarreal emerged shock winners against Bayern Munich.
When the two teams face off for a berth in the Champions League finals, one player the Reds boss Klopp is sure to have an eye out for is the highly-rated Dutch wide player Arnaut Danjuma, according to a report from The Daily Express.
The Anfield giants are understood to have zeroed in on the Villarreal first-team regular as a potential replacement for Sadio Mane should the latter not renew terms beyond the summer of 2023 when his contract is due to expire.
A move for the longstanding targets this summer, however, seems unlikely with Liverpool willing to follow up on their interest next summer when Mane could be in line to demand an exit.
