Liverpool are claimed to be involved in a three-way contest to land the signature of A.C. Milan’s midfield maestro Franck Kessie in the next summer window.
Kessie’s deal with the San Siro giants expires in less than 12 months and speculation is rife that the Ivory Coast international could be tempted to call it quits in Serie A football with interest coming in from elsewhere in his services.
Reports from The Daily Mirror have suggested that Liverpool are set to be challenged by the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain in making a move for the 24-year-old Kessie next summer.
Despite long-drawn talks between the AC Milan board and Kessie’s representatives, an agreement has not been reached to extend the midfielder’s contract at San Siro beyond the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign.
Liverpool have long been rumoured to be after a midfield signing from the transfer window following the exit of Gini Wijnaldum from the Anfield fold earlier this summer in a major blow to Jurgen Klopp’s available options in the middle of the pitch.
