Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic is of interest to a number of clubs across the continent going into the summer transfer window and Liverpool FC’s current crisis on the injury front means the Reds are in the reckoning to make a move for the Serbian international.
According to reports from Sky Sports, Milenkovic has stepped up his game while turning out for the Serie A outfit and looks set to secure a move to a bigger club come the summer.
Long-term injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have been coupled with recurring layoffs for makeshift options in Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, leaving Jurgen Klopp with much to worry about on his squad depth when the summer window reopens.
Reinforcements did arrive on Merseyside on deadline-day as Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies made their way in the final hours but the former is seen just as a short-term cover and Klopp is tempted to bring in another quality signing to bolster his depleted backline.
A fee northwards of €30 million is understood to be Fiorentina’s price of parting ways with their first-team defensive regular whose deal with the Italian side comes to a close in 2022.
