Liverpool have joined the chase for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat with the competition to sign the Moroccon heating up on the back of his impressive displays at the World Cup.
Tottenham Hotspur are the other English top flight club credited with an interest in the 26-year-old defensive midfielder Amrabat who has put in a stellar run of showings for his country in Qatar.
According to a report from the Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport ( via The Liverpool Echo), it is claimed that Liverpool are amongst the interested sides keeping tabs on the Fiorentina man ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
Liverpool’s midfield could do with some reinforcements in the coming transfer windows with Jurgen Klopp’s current engine room options coming under much fire for their underwhelming displays so far this season.
Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are all out of contract come next summer and it remains to be seen whether Klopp would be keen to retain any of the three midfield players or dip into the market for fresh faces.
