Liverpool keeping close tabs on Danish playmaker Mikkel Damsgaard

One of the top talents during this summer’s UEFA European Championships in Mikkel Damsgaard is courting heavy interest from Liverpool in the ongoing transfer window.

Reports from The Liverpool Echo claim that the Merseyside giants are keeping close tabs on the 21-year-old with the club’s scouts n attendance at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Monday to watch Damsgaard in action.

Damsgaard was playing for his side Sampdoria against AC Milan who secured a narrow one-goal win over their domestic rivals with Damsgaard turning out for the entire 90 minutes of play amid the Liverpool scouting team watching him with great interest.

Liverpool have been backed to make one or more new signings before the transfer window’s deadline later this month and on the back of the recent departure of Xherdan Shaqiri to Lyon, Jurgen Klopp is believed to be pushing for attacking reinforcements at Anfield.

A superb campaign for both club and country this past year has made Damsgaard’s stock rise in world football and Liverpool hope to land the highly-promising talent this summer to bolster their ranks.
