Liverpool keeping tabs on Inter Milan starlet Alessandro Bastoni

Jurgen Klopp’s injury-ravaged Liverpool FC outfit are understood to be keeping tabs on the highly-rated Inter Milan defensive prodigy Alessandro Bastoni leading up to this summer.

Reports from Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport claim that the 21-year-old central defender has emerged on the radar of Liverpool FC with Klopp falling short on first-team names to call upon this season due to the adverse injury crisis at Anfield.

The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez remain sidelined for the remainder of the 2020-21 campaign and the pairing are expected to report back to the fold no sooner than the start of the forthcoming season.

Bastoni has established his credentials as one of the brightest talents across the continent on the back of an impressive campaign under Antonio Conte in the Inter Milan colours, featuring in 24 top-flight outings and registering four assists.

The Serie A giants would be certain to demand a high price-tag to part ways with their world-class talent and with a fee of €50 million doing the rounds, Liverpool FC would have to fend off competition from rival European heavyweights to land Bastoni’s signature.
