Liverpool are said to be leading the chase to sign Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners but face a challenge from Serie A giants Juventus on the transfer front.
Koopmeiners has been a star turn for his side in Italy’s top flight and could be on the move soon with Europe’s biggest clubs keen on his signature ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
According to a report from  Gazzetta dello Sport, Jurgen Klopp’s Merseysiders are the frontrunners to land the Dutchman Koopmeiners whose arrival could help bolster an underwhelming midfield roster at Anfield.
The 25-year-old Serie A talent has been earmarked as a potential name on the shopping list for the Reds head coach Klopp whose well documented interest in signing a new midfielder for his side over the summer could bear fruit in the time to come.
England talent Jude Bellingham remains the German’s first choice target but moving in for the 19-year-old will be no easy task considering the heavy competition for his services besides the mammoth asking price demanded by Borussia Dortmund.
