Former Liverpool star Jan Molby has revealed that Arsenal will pose a sterner test against the Reds than what Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City did earlier at Anfield.
With Liverpool sitting on 2nd place in the Premier League table at the moment, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds will be ready to face title rivals Arsenal at the Emirates this Saturday. The Merseyside club has been unbeaten this season 10 games into the Premiership while Arsenal is unbeaten in 13 games across all competitions at the moment.
It always promises to be an entertaining affair when these two sides meet and this weekend should prove that point. Even though Liverpool faced champions Manchester City earlier this season which ended in a tight 0-0 draw at Anfield, former Red Jan Molby believes that Arsenal will be the toughest test for Liverpool so far.
Writing on his Liverpool Echo column the 55 year old former Danish star wrote that Unai Emery’s high flying Arsenal are going to be the toughest test for Liverpool yet in the Premier League this season, “We’ve been able to put them(Arsenal) to the sword on a number of occasions, This time, though, will be different. Arsenal has some good players, and you saw against Leicester City the other week what can happen when they get on a roll. Maybe their dropped points at Crystal Palace last weekend will have sharpened minds.”
Thinking from an Arsenal point of view Molby added, “They won’t really want to go seven points behind Liverpool this early in the season, so it’s as massive a game for Arsenal as it is for us. In fact, this is probably Liverpool’s most difficult game of the season so far”.
Molby could well be correct because Liverpool cannot afford to slip up at the moment and Arsenal is on a great run of form currently. It should be an interesting game with two very offensive minded side’s but Liverpool’s defense is slightly better than their opponents on the weekend.
