Liverpool reportedly made a ‘discreet’ approach to sign Chelsea playmaker Mason Mount who is also wanted by Manchester City and Manchester United.
Mount’s future at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer has been the subject of ferocious speculation despite Thomas Tuchel insisting that the England international was to stay put with the Blues.
There had been rumours in the past of the Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp keen to keep close tabs on Mount with the former on the hunt for reinforcements in the attacking third of the pitch to bolster his ranks.
According to a report from The Sun, Liverpool and Manchester City have already opened dialogue over a potential swoop for Mount’s signature with Manchester United’s interest also registered in the England international.
Klopp would be scouting the market time and again this summer for a new attacking signing should his long-serving talisman Sadio Mane head out the exit door at Anfield as has been suggested in recent days with Bayern Munich readying a bid.
