Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners’ camp over signing the Dutchman in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old, who is valued by Atalanta in the region of £35 million, has been watched closely by Liverpool who remain on the hunt for a fresh pair of legs to reinforce their underwhelming midfield roster.
According to a report from iNews, it is claimed that the Anfield giants are keen on landing the signature of Koopmeiners to make him their second signing of the January window after winger Cody Gakpo arrived on Merseyside earlier this month.
It has been rumoured that Liverpool maintain a strong interest in moving in for the Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham who is all but certain to leave the German side at the end of the season.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are expected to lose two midfield players in Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer with both players out of contract at Anfield and likely to seek a new destination.
