Liverpool have reportedly made contact with the highly-rated Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis in search of a new signing to bolster their engine room options.
Jurgen Klopp has long been on the hunt for reinforcement to shore up his midfield ranks which have often come under criticism for their below-par displays amid Liverpool’s stuttering start to the new season.
With Liverpool looking to revamp their ageing midfield, Benfica maestro Florentino Luis has emerged as a name on the shopping list at Anfield on the back of the 21-year-old’s impressive displays in the Portuguese top flight.
According to a report from O Jogo ( via Sport Witness), it is claimed that Liverpool are keeping close tabs on two Benfica midfielders – Enzo Fernández and his teammate Florentino Luis ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window.
Luis has spent the last two seasons out on loan but following his return to Benfica this summer, he has played a pivotal role for them which has made Liverpool take note of his ability in the centre of the park.
