David Alaba is increasingly linked with a move to Real Madrid but Liverpool FC will make one last push for the Austrian international’s arrival at Anfield, according to reports from the Sun.
Alaba had been pivotal to the Merserysider’s transfer plans heading into the January window, with the 28-year-old central defender refusing to extend his stay at Bayern Munich beyond the forthcoming summer over wage demands.
Major European clubs, including the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus, entered the race to make a move for the Austrian international even as Liverpool FC’s interest in Alaba remained concrete.
However, recent reports had indicated that Zinedine Zidane’s outfit had leapfrogged their competitors in signing Alaba, however, Jurgen Klopp’s side plan on making a last-ditch attempt to lure Alaba on sealing a move to the Merseyside outfit on a free transfer.
Increasing injury concerns for the Premier League holders in their defensive core means that it is now or never for Klopp and Co. to use the ongoing transfer window as a boon to add reinforcements at Anfield.
