Liverpool nearing completion of loan agreement to sign Arthur Melo

Liverpool are reportedly nearing the completion of a loan agreement to sign Arthur Melo from Serie A giants Juventus on deadline day, according to Sky Italy reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.

Jurgen Klopp has busy in the final days of the summer transfer window with the Liverpool head coach on the hunt for late-window reinforcements to bolster his injury-stricken midfield ranks.

Juventus star Melo has emerged a suprise name on Liverpool’s shopping list to many with the likes of Aston Villa maestro Douglas Luiz and Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer the other players linked with a move to Anfield.

Liverpool’s midfield department has lost Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to long-term injuries and with the new season underway, there was pressure building on Klopp to bring in a fresh face for the squad.

The 26-year-old Melo is tipped to sign for the Merseyside Reds in a straight season-long transfer with no option or obligation to make it permanent with the Brazil international set to make the travels for his medical.
