Liverpool offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid first-teamer Matheus Cunha

Liverpool have been offered the chance to sign Atletico Madrid first-teamer Matheus Cunha who has courted interest from a few Premier League sides ahead of the January transfer window.

Cunha is said to be deemed surplus to requirements at the Vicente Calderón Stadium and could be on his way out in January with Atletico willing to green-light his transfer amid interest in the player from England’s top flight.

According to a report from 90min, it is claimed that Liverpool, Chelsea Manchester United, and Newcastle United have been offered the 23-year-old by his entourage, which could set the stage for a widely contested race on the transfer front.

The Reds find themselves on the search for short-term reinforcements in the market to add to their attacking ranks after the recent injury setback for Luis Diaz who looks likely to be on the sidelines until March next year.

Besides Diaz, another left-sided winger in Diogo Jota has been dealt a fresh injury issue which curtails the options at Jurgen Klopp’s disposal ahead of the resumption of their Premier League campaign later this month.
