Liverpool have reportedly opened talks to sign AC Milan contract rebel Franck Kessie with heavy competition in the market to land the midfielder’s signature.
Kessie is in line to call it quits at San Siro come the end of the season and Liverpool have been credited with a strong interest in securing the Serie A star on a free transfer.
According to reports from the Italian news outlet Ansa, the Merseysiders have launched an opening offer for the AC Milan maestro with the hopes of moving to the front of the queue ahead of the other suitors.
The likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are also keeping close tabs on Kessie’s situation in the AC Milan camp with the 25-year-old Ivory Coast international seeking a move elsewhere in the next summer transfer window.
Klopp will be hoping to land one of the top players in his position in Kessie with the player available for free and open to negotiate pre-contract terms in the forthcoming January window.
