Ben Davies could be on his way out of the Anfield exit door without a single first-team outing to his name for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp is prepared to part ways with the centre-back this summer.
Davies had joined the Merseyside giants earlier this year during the January winter transfer window with Klopp making a last-minute move for the player to mitigate the severe injury crisis affecting his side’s backline.
However, with a run of injury niggles curtailing his time on the pitch during his debut campaign at Anfield and with the return of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez from long-term layoffs in the ongoing pre-season, Davies has fallen down the pecking order and might not see regular minutes on the pitch this upcoming season.
Reports from The Athletic claim that despite having turned down a loan offer for the central defender from Championship outfit Sheffield United, Liverpool remain open to the player’s sale before the transfer window slams shut.
There has been strong interest in landing Davies’ signature from Scottish side Celtic along with AFC Bournemouth who also have made enquiries over his availability.
