Several star players of Liverpool FC’s first-team squad were in attendance for the Premier League champions’ group training sessions with only a week to go before Leeds United visit Anfield for Jurgen Klopp’s side opening league fixture of the 2020-21 season.
However, in what would be great news for the Reds’ supporters, the duo of Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip were pictured gearing up for the upcoming season alongside their teammates for the first time in the past couple of months.
The pair had been sidelined for a significant period of time after sustaining injuries last season following the commencement of the Project Restart. While Matip had been ruled out of action since the Merseyside Derby in mid-June, the Liverpool FC skipper Henderson had suffered a knee injury against Brighton in the first week of July.
Besides the aforementioned two players working their way to full fitness, other star players of Klopp’s side such as Mohammad Salah, Fabinho, and Roberto Firmino were also snapped at the club’s Melwood training facility.
It has to be noted that a number of Liverpool FC’s first-team members are currently on international duty with their respective countries as part of the UEFA Nations League commitments. All such players are expected to report back to Melwood by the end of next week with the game against Leeds in mind.
