Liverpool plotting a loan swoop for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie

Liverpool are said to be plotting a loan swoop for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie in the January transfer window to reinforce their engine room, claims a report from The Daily Mail.

The USMNT star has been linked with a move from Turn midway through the campaign and has courted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs with Juventus hoping to pocket a good fee from his exit.

McKennie has failed to cement the status of a first-team regular in Massimiliano Allegri’s team and the manager would be open to giving his nod for the American’s switch to Anfield and raising some funds for new signings.

Juve are willing to sanction his departure in the January window and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are considered one of the contenders for his signature with Klopp looking to add to his options in the centre of the park sooner rather than later.

It is no secret that England’s teenage talent Jude Bellingham remains the top priority for the Liverpool boss Klopp on the transfer front but a mid-season move for the Dortmund starlet appears to be out of the question, according to the rumour mill.
