According to the latest reports, Liverpool could swoop in for Fulham superstars Ryan Sessegnon and Aleksander Mitrovic in the winter transfer window.
Liverpool seems to be the only real contenders for the Premier League title along with Manchester City this term. Sitting just two points behind Pep Guardiola’s side, Jurgen Klopp’s men are bound to give the Manchester outfit a good run for their money this season but the German boss is aware that he needs a deep squad in order to compete for the title.
A few players that caught Klopp’s eye off late were from their most recent visitor, Fulham. The London outfit is currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table but they didn’t play like a club fighting for relegation when they arrived at Anfield.
Although the Merseyside club managed a 2-0 victory against Fulham, it was quite hard fought and some key players like Ryan Sessegnon and Aleksander Mitrovic.
Andrew Robertson has solved the long-term left-back issues at Liverpool since arriving at the club last summer but Liverpool Legend John Aldridge believes that Sessegnon could be a great back up for the Scottish full back. The 18 year old Englishman has already made 100 appearances at a club level and could be deployed as a winger as well.
Another impressive player at Anfield for Fulham was Aleksander Mitrovic, the big center-forward was isolated but did extremely well to hold up play for his teammates. The 24 year old is a physical, big and can score important goals as well. Mitrovic could be a great addition to Liverpool as he would strengthen their bench and could add a different dynamism also to Klopp’s attack.
Liverpool could do well to sign Sessegnon in the January window but will face stiff competition from rivals Premier League outfits. If the Reds are to push for a title challenge, they must have players off the bench who can win games on a regular basis.
