Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that no club is perfect and that even Napoli have their weaknesses where the Reds will have to exploit in their crunch Champions League encounter on Tuesday night.
The Merseyside giants are currently sitting at the summit of the English Premier League and are the only side without defeat in the competition. However, on Tuesday night Liverpool are in a tricky situation in order to qualify for the Champions League as they host Napoli at Anfield. Liverpool needs to claim a 1-0 win or emerge victorious by two clear goals to book a last 16 place at the Italian outfits’ expense.
Klopp must pick his team correctly in order to ensure that last year’s Champions League finalists make it past their group. The German boss will have to choose between Dejan Lovren or Joel Matip in the center of defense to partner Virgil Van Dijk.
Lovren is likely to get a start if the 29-year-old is fit and assessed to play as Joe Gomez will be out injured for the rest of the year. Club captain Jordan Henderson should return to the starting eleven and Klopp may have to choose between Naby Keita or James Milner in the midfield department. The destructive front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah should start the game as the English side need goals.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the clash against Napoli, Klopp said that he wants his players to feel the emotions of playing in an intense game and target their visitors’ weaknesses, “It is a mix of being really lively, and making an emotional game of it, it must be. On the other hand, we have to be really close at the back so nothing happens there. That is a big job to do. We do not need to make it any bigger than it is, but it is big. No team in the world is perfect – we are not and Napoli is not, We all have weaknesses. It is about using the weaknesses of the opponent. “
