Liverpool are prepared to match any offer from rival suitors for Enzo Fernandez with the Benfica midfielder emerging as a top transfer target at Anfield.
The 21-year-old talent only signed for Portuguese giants Benfica from River Plate over the summer but his consistent displays for club and country have made him of much importance to Liverpool’s plans in the transfer market.
With the Anfield giants on the search for viable options to reinforce their midfield sooner rather than later, Fernandez has come up as a priority name on the shopping list for Liverpool who are ready to fend off the competition for his signature.
According to a report from the Portuguese publication O Jogo ( via Sky Sports), it is claimed that the Reds have a pre-agreement with Fernandez’s camp in place and have promised to match any offer from another club to secure the signing of the midfielder.
Fernandes making the move to Anfield in the upcoming January transfer window, however, appears unliley with Benfica playing hardball over their €120 million asking price which could mean a summer transfer between the two parties.
