Liverpool have been put on alert to Aston Villa starlet Carney Chukwuemeka’s contract standoff after the midfielder rejected a new deal.

Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield camp are joined by fellow Premier League bigwigs Manchester United and Manchester City in the race to sign the 18-year-old Villa talent Chukwuemeka, according to reports from The Guardian.

Chukwuemeka is touted to be one of the biggest prospects in English football and with him refusing to renew his terms at Villa Park, Liverpool will position themselves to secure his coveted signature but have stern competition on their hands.

Manchester United and Manchester City are rival clubs across the land credited with a strong interest in the Aston Villa teenager who made his debut at the end of last season and is tipped for a bright future which convinced Villa to tie him down to a long-term deal.
