Liverpool put on red alert over the possibility of signing Barcelona starlet Gavi

Liverpool have been put on red alert over the possibility of signing Barcelona starlet Gavi who could be set to leave Camp Nou on a free transfer.

The Spain international talent has courted interest from the Premier League big boys Manchester City and Liverpool in the recent past and both clubs are now alerted to his contract situation with the Barca camp.

According to a report from The Times, it is claimed that the La Liga giants could be unable to register Gavi due to the league’s strict financial rules and this could render Gavi’s senior contract null and void and see him heading into free agency.

Gavi was previously on a youth contract at Barcelona but the club pushed for a professional deal to one of their star first-team regulars who has grown into a top player since breaking into the first team under manager Xavi Hernandez.

He is said to be one of the potential targets for the Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp who is desperate to revamp his midfield roster over the summer after his side’s disappointing season this term.
