Liverpool have turned down the £30 million Bayern Munich bid for Sadio Mane with the Germans returning with a slightly improved offer for their top transfer target for this summer.
Mane has demanded a move away from Anfield in the ongoing transfer window with the Senegal international winger seeking a new challenge in his career six years into a successful stint with Liverpool.
Bayern have emerged as the clear frontrunners for Mane’s signature but could face difficulties in convincing Liverpool to agree to a cut-price deal with the Reds holding out for a £42.8 million asking price for their wantaway star forward.
According to a report from BBC, Liverpool have rejected Bayern’s second and improved bid worth £30 million with Jurgen Klopp’s side holding out for the same valuation Bayern have put on Polish dangerman Robert Lewandowski worth £42.8 million.
Lewandowski is closing on a move to FC Barcelona with the 33-year-old striker keen on calling it quits at the Allianz Arena to join the Camp Nou giants this summer as Bayern hope to line up Mane as a replacement before sanctioning Lewandowski’s exit.
