Liverpool rebuff approaches from Greece for parting ways with Kostas Tsimikas

Recent reports claim that Liverpool FC have stood firm in their decision not to offload last summer’s recruit Kostas Tsimikas this January in spite of the Greek full-back failing to impress since his move to Anfield less than a year ago.

Injuries have played a major hindrance in Tsimikas’ path to regular first-team football for the Merseyside giants and reports from TeamTalk reveal that the left-back was the subject of interest from Olympiakos and Panathinaikos in the ongoing transfer window.

However, the Premier League holders have shown their disinterest in parting ways with the defender as the injury-crisis in Liverpool FC’s defensive core threatens to play spoilsport to their title-defence plans over the course of this campaign.

Andy Robertson’s cementing of a first-team regular spot in Jurgen Klopp’s plans at Anfield has meant that Tsimikas has been unable to make his debut in top-flight outings for Liverpool FC, with the Greek international enjoying just a handful of appearances in the Champions League.
