Liverpool register interest in signing Sander Berge

Sheffield United midfield star Sander Berge has emerged as a target for a number of top-flight clubs across the country, including the likes of Liverpool FC, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspurs, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old has been one of the most important players for Chris Wilder’s outfit since his move to the Blades last January, playing a critical part in Sheffield United shockingly occupying a top-ten finish last season in the Premier League.

However, the Blades have failed to emulate their 2019-20 campaign’s success this season in the top-flight season, with Wilder’s men situated at the foot of the Premier League standings for now, despite a flurry of transfer business this summer, including the much talked about transfer of Rhian Brewster from Anfield to the Blades.

If the Blades do suffer the unfortunate fate of relegation at the end of the ongoing season, it will come as no surprise to anyone if Berge makes the decisions to seal an exit from the Sheffield-based outfit next summer.

With a price-tag of  £22 million doing the rounds in the media, Liverpool FC would find themselves engaged in a battle with Arsenal and Manchester United to land the player’s signature.
