Liverpool reportedly turned down a deadline day bid for Naby Keita from RB Leipzig who are expected to revive their interest in the midfielder this summer.
Keita has entered the final six months of his current terms at Anfield which are due to expire at the end of the season following which the 27-year-old is tipped to head out the exit door.
According to a report from the German publication BILD, it is claimed that Keita was subject to interest this January from his former club RB Leipzig with the Bundesliga outfit making an attempt to secure his signature on deadline day.
Jurgen Klopp’s side, however, blocked a return to Leipzig for Keita who will stay put on Merseyside at least until the summer which is when the player could make the move elsewhere as he looks for regular game time.
The German club are likely to return with a fresh offer for the Liverpool man in the summer window but Liverpool will not stand to pocket anything from the deal with Keita heading into free agency.
