Liverpool reported frontrunners to sign PSV talisman Donyell Malen

The Reds are leading the race ahead of La Liga giants FC Barcelona with both sides vying hard for the signature of PSV forward Donyell Malen who has netted 17 goals this season in Eredivisie football.

Reports from the Express claim that Malen’s signature would be much-coveted in this summer’s transfer window with PSV reeling in financial woes and plans to offload their first-team regulars coming into action.

Liverpool looking at £25 million fee to bring Malen to Anfield

The Holland international will reportedly be available for a fee in the region of £25 million as Jurgen Klopp looks for options in the transfer market to bolster an under-fire attacking unit.

With Roberto Firmino and Mohammad Salah heavily tipped to exit Anfield in the summer, Klopp would be pressurised by the fanbase to bring in viable replacements should the aforementioned two names plan to leave.

Malen seen as an ideal replacement for Anfield outcast Origi

Divock Origi is one such player in the first-team ranks at Liverpool FC who has failed to grab involvement over the past couple of seasons on a regular basis and the Belgian international looks increasingly likely to call it quits this summer amid interest in his services from Inter Milan.

Replacing Origi in the Anfield setup would be a major task on Klopp’s hands with the player having become an alternative option to the star-studded frontline and the boss has set his sights on the 22-year-old Malen to fill the void.
