Liverpool reportedly one step ahead in race to sign Renato Sanches

On the back of previous reports of Liverpool FC trying to chase down the highly-rated Portugal international midfielder Renato Sanches, Tuttomercatoweb is claiming that the Merseysiders have agreed onto a price-tag for him with French outfit LOSC Lille.

Sanches’ great run of showings in the Ligue 1 have not gone unnoticed as Klopp’s interest in signing the 23-year-old has fueled speculation of Lille accepting an offer in the region of £18 million from the Premier League holders.

Gini Wijnaldum’s contract situation continues to drag on heading into the January transfer window and with the Dutchman free to leave on a Bosman transfer to any other side in Europe, Jurgen Klopp is understood to be wanting to sign an apt replacement in the centre of the park for the tireless Wijnaldum.

However, reports of Liverpool FC scrambling for midfield options in the transfer market does come as a major surprise to many considering the wide-fold applause garnered by academy graduate Curtis Jones in recent months.

The 19-year-old has broken through the first-team ranks at Anfield in a tremendous manner, and following a long-term injury to summer signing Thiago Alcantara, has staked his claim for a regular starting spot in the Liverpool FC XI week in and week out.
