Liverpool are believed to be seeking a bid in the region of £40 million for wantaway star Sadio Mane who is being courted aggressively by Bayern Munich this summer.
The German giants want to move in for the Liverpool winger who has asked for a change in scenery ahead of the next season with just a year left on his current terms with Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield camp.
Bayern’s opening bid for their top transfer target, however, is way short of Liverpool’s demands with the Merseyside giants turning down the initial proposal – made up of £21 million up front and £4 million in add-ons.
According to The Times’s Paul Joyce, it is suggested that Liverpool are looking to pocket an offer of around £40 million in order to agree to sanction Mane’s sale with the ball now in Bayern’s court for an improved bid to sign the Senegelse.
Liverpool’s push for renewal to the former Southampton man have failed to materialise with Mane keen to explore alternative avenues over the summer despite Jurgen Klopp’s attempts to tie him down to a long-term extension.
