Liverpool have reportedly set a £17 million asking price to sanction the departure of the in-demand Japan forward Takumi Minamino this summer, claims a report from BBC Sport.
According to the rumour mill, Jurgen Klopp’s side are in line to lose out on Minamino’s services ahead of the start of the next season, with Minamino seeking a move away from Anfield in search of more first-team game time.
The former RB Salzburg man served as a rotation player for Klopp this past season on Merseyside with Luis Diaz’s recruitment in January earlier in the year, leading to Minamino’s fall down the pecking order.
Despite his limited involvement for the Reds, Minamino was the top scorer in domestic cup competitions last season for Klopp’s men as he played a crucial role in helping Liverpool win the FA Cup and League Cup.
Klopp could be interested in parting ways with Minamino for a reasonable price tag with speculation doing the rounds that Liverpool are closing in on a club-record transfer for Benfica’s 22-year-old dangerman Darwin Nunez.
