Jurgen Klopp’s side had been reported to be eager on securing a deal for Norwich City defender Jamal Lewis. However, the Canaries had stuck to their asking price of €20 million for the 22-year old left-back leading to Liverpool FC withdrawing their interest in signing Lewis this summer.
The 24-year old Tsimikas has been noted to be a solid performer for Olympiacos since he made his first-team debut for the Greek outfit back in 2015. The defender was sent on a couple of season-long loan stints in the following years, however, has been a regular fixture in Pedro Martins’s side over the past couple of seasons.
Until now, the 34-year old James Milner had been used sparingly by Klopp to provide cover for Robertson on the left side of the defense. However, due to Milner being a traditional central midfielder, a similar sort of spark was not seen from him from the left-back spot.
Tsimikas has been capped thrice already by the Greece national team and is touted to have a bright future ahead of him. Signing the 24-year old would help Liverpool FC boss Jurgen Klopp to strengthen his existing defensive squad depth. The German does need to add a few more quality players to his side in order to successfully defend their league title next season.
