Liverpool are looking set to win the race to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season in a long-awaited move for the Anfield faithful.
The Reds chose not to make any signings this January to bolster their midfield which is dire need of reinforcements for the second half of a season that has not seen Jurgen Klopp’s men perform at their usual best.
According to a report from The Liverpool Echo, it is claimed that the Reds remain the frontrunners to land Bellingham’s coveted signature come the summer despite there being a huge possibility of a transfer battle to sign him.
Jurgen Klopp and Co. face huge competition for the England international from Manchester City, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United but signing for Liverpool is understood to be Bellingham and his family’s preference.
It remains to be seen what happens if Liverpool, who are languishing mid table in the Premier League this term, do not qualify for the Champions League which has often proved to be the lure for big-name players in the market.
