According to a report from The Athletic, Liverpool have shown interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Exequiel Palacios during this summer transfer window.
However, the club has been informed that Palacios is not available for sale. Additionally, Manchester United are also reportedly interested in the Argentine international.
Simon Rofles, the managing director of Bayer Leverkusen, has been clear that their star player is not available for sale to any interested clubs.
Liverpool’s midfield rebuilding appears to be on track for this summer. Their interest in Palacios might have been considered alongside moves for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
The Reds are likely aware that Leverkusen would demand a significant profit on the £15 million they paid for Palacios, who joined the German club in 2020 from River Plate.
