Liverpool FC’s dynamic full-back Trent Alexander Arnold, who had missed the Premier League champions’ pre-season camp in Austria last month, staged a return to training sessions for the England national team ahead of the Three Lions’ UEFA Nations League fixtures against Iceland and Denmark.
The 21-year old Arnold has even sat out the Reds’ FA Community Shield loss to Arsenal last week owing to a calf injury sustained by him earlier this summer. However, it was believed that the defender was merely benched for the Wembley game as a precaution by Jurgen Klopp.
The Merseyside club’s boss did not want to risk the match fitness of his star player, with Liverpool FC’s opening Premier League game set to be played on 12th September. Klopp’s men play hosts to newly-promoted side Leeds United at Anfield in less than two weeks’ time.
Arnold’s comeback as a starter for Klopp’s playing XI will be a massive boost to the club’s title defense next season. Despite being a part of the four-man backline for the Reds, Arnold’s contributions towards his side’s attacking chances are of utmost significance to Liverpool FC’s style of play.
With the right-back having played every league game for the Anfield giants last season and racking up 13 assists over the course of the Premier League season, it is fair to say that Arnold is one of the most important players at Klopp’s disposal at Liverpool FC.
