Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah was going through a bit of a goal drought for his club but finally managed to score the winner against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
There were plenty of concerns regarding the form for Liverpool’s star winger Mohamed Salah and his goal scoring form this season. The former Basel star was without a goal in four appearances for Liverpool, his longest goal scoring drought ever since joining the club last summer from AS Roma for a fee of £37 million.
Reports began to claim that the 26-year-old Salah was probably a ‘one season wonder’ after a stellar goalscoring season for his debut season at Anfield where he notched up 44 goals in all competitions and also helped Jurgen Klopp’s side reach the final of the Champions League. But Salah got back among the goals against David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town on match day nine at the Kirklee’s Stadium.
Salah also revealed that he wasn’t too worried about his lack of goals this term but was happier to see his side winning games and still in the title race.
While speaking to BT Sport, the Liverpool forward Salah, who scored his 50th goal in English football was asked about how he felt netting a winner after a while to which he replied, “It’s a good feeling, “The most important thing is to help the team get the points and now we are on track so we’re happy with the result.”
Salah was also asked whether he was worried about not taking his chances in the previous games to which he responded, “I wasn’t worried, I don’t worry. In the end, we got the three points. I think we had to fight. We knew that before the game so everyone was at 100%.”
Liverpool climbed to second on the Premier League table overtaking Chelsea and are level on points with leaders Manchester City, they will host Champions League side Red Star Belgrade at Anfield on Tuesday night hoping for another win to strengthen their spot in Group C.
