Liverpool have announced their Champions League Squad for the 2019-20 season, the squad submitted will be for the group stage matches and clubs can make changes to the squad in January for the knockout stages.
The Reds begin their defense of the trophy this month having been drawn alongside Napoli, Salzburg, and Genk for the first phase of the competition proper. Liverpool is drawn in the same group with Napoli for a second season running after being drawn with the Serie A club last season.
Each club must name a maximum of 25 players, two of whom must be goalkeepers. There is a minimum of eight places reserved exclusively for ‘locally trained players’. If a club has fewer than eight locally trained players in their squad, then the maximum number of players on List A is reduced accordingly.
Locally-trained players are club-trained players who were on the books between the ages of 15 and 21, or association-trained players who were on another club’s books in the same association for three years between the ages of 15 and 21.
There are no surprises in the squad as expected with Liverpool not making any big signings in the transfer window. Daniel Sturridge left the club after he was not offered a new deal at the club.
